This one, from Essen in Germany, had travelled 691 km (429 miles) in 4 days. The sender had written the message by hand in a very small script and in German - so deciphering it took me a while! The sender (Sabine) has been a member of the Postcrossing club for 9 months and sent 94 postcards in that time. Postcrossing is quite popular in Germany. There are just over 36,000 members in a population of almost 82 million - 1 in 2270 of the population.
The second card I received this morning was this one from Finland, having travelled 1,828 km (1,136 miles) in 4 days. The sender (Anna) has been a Postcrossing member for 7 years and in that time has sent more than 470 postcards. Finland is the No 1 country for Postcrossing members with over 16,000 members out of a population of just over 5 million - or 1 in 322 of the population. (The corresponding figure for the UK is 1 in 6330).
